Pompeii is with no doubts one of the most visited archeological site in Europe. Every year ruins, plaster casts and charm of the Roman life style attracts millions of people from all over the world.
A question that probably makes you think is "what's the realation between Pompeii & wine?" The wines of Vesuvius, made from the vineyards located on the slopes of the volcano, have been known since Roman times for their quality, gleaned from the character of the Volcano mineral-rich soil and temperate climate.
Ideally, this tour start with a 2hrs visit of Pompeii (with a guide upon request) and climbing of Vesuvius cone, after that the Vineyard visit with the owner who will give you an explanation of cultivation, harvesting, and wine production. Finally lunch with cheese, salami, and other food depending on your choice paired with the appropriate wine.
